ROBOTIC FACE ASSISTANT TO PSYCHOLOGISTS FOR THE TREATMENT OF LEARNING DISORDERS

Abstract

In the present research a robotic face assistant was developed for psycho-pedagogues in the diagnosis of learning disorders in order to improve the execution of treatments for these pathologies in children between 7 and 9 years of age. In order to elaborate the robotic face, objectives were established such as studying the variables involved in the treatment tests, coupling a software to the robotic face, developing a software with the capacity of voice command recognition, designing a circuit capable of modulating audio signal and finally building a robotic face with freedom of movement. The research is framed in the line of innovation of industrial processes and technological products, under the quantitative paradigm, in the modality of technical project. Recyclable materials were used, together with a high-level software, finally, the control module integrated by an arduino microcontroller in charge of the communication between the high level software and servo motors for the movement of the face was elaborated, it also has an electronic circuit to control the servo motor of the jaw. It is concluded that the prototype developed was able to carry out a master-slave conversation (Question-Answer) together with the psychopedagogist, testing a previously selected patient, whose final diagnosis was that the patient does not have any disorder in the learning area.
