This research aims to comparatively evaluate the performance of three filter media used in the sangría production process at Bodegas Pomar C.A., located in Carora, Lara state, in order to ensure a quality product that meets the company’s standards. The study is developed under the positivist paradigm, with a quantitative approach, as a special project in a descriptive, field-based, cross-sectional, and experimental design. It is structured in three stages. The first stage involves diagnosing the current situation through direct observation, unstructured interviews, surveys, and data recording, using validated instruments evaluated by expert judgment and a KR-20 reliability coefficient of 0.7730. The second stage characterizes the system and the filter media, establishing values for the simulation process. The third stage presents a proposal in two phases: a technical study, consisting of laboratory simulations of the three filter media, and an economic study, estimating an annual cost saving of 10.32% with the selected supplier. The study concludes that it is necessary to consider replacing the current diatomaceous earth supplier, recommending a viable alternative that meets both technical and economic requirements for implementation.
