This research work aims to know and demonstrate the current position that some publishing agents in Venezuela have assumed in relation to the electronic book as an alternative for the Venezuelan publishing industry, given the incidence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and in the context of the country in relation to others in the region. Methodologically, this work is developed under the qualitative research paradigm, whose design responds to the phenomenological approach, for which consultation in documentary sources and interviews are used, based on a script of questions, directed to six study subjects. The triangulation between documentary sources, the consistent results of the interviews and the theoretical framework ensure a high degree of reliability. The results obtained show that in Venezuela the electronic and printed formats of the book object coexist, as in the rest of the region. According to these results, it is possible to conclude that the publishing production of electronic books in Venezuela could be in a growth stage, supported and relevant information for those interested in knowing the current situation of the electronic book as an alternative for the publishing sector in Venezuela.
