Social justice and equity are fundamental principles that should guide the functioning of any legal system. In practice, however, many legal systems have shortcomings that prevent the full realization of these ideals. This essay discusses the relationship between social justice, equity, and the legal system, exploring the challenges and opportunities for achieving greater equality before the law.
