Spanish flu and Covid19: how to stumble upon the same stone twice

A review of the two great pandemics in the last hundred years is presented: the Spanish Flu and COVID19. Epidemiological differences are compared, except for the limitation of the data in 1918/1919. The similarities between the two pandemics are highlighted. In the origins of each one of them. The health responses and the resources they had and generated. But also the psycho-social consequences of each one of them. The unequal, inequitable impact on human societies according to their cultural and economic characteristics. Finally, a reflection is made about the strengths and limitations of today's society, and the importance of historical contributions in the analysis of pandemics.
