Systemic approach to the use of natural resources In relation to sustainable development

Abstract

Elucidating the complexity of natural resource use in the context of sustainable development is crucial in light of current challenges posed by environmental exploitation. This essay aims to interpret the systemic approach to natural resource use in sustainable development, starting with the conceptualization of sustainable development, natural resource use, and other terms necessary for understanding the complex relationship between them. It then systematizes sustainable development in relation to natural resource use and thus provides a systemic understanding of natural resource use in relation to sustainable development. This paper employs a critical interpretative documentary methodology to conceptualize the key elements of sustainable development, human needs, environmental quality, and quality of life. The results are expressed in graphic representations that integrate social, economic, and environmental dimensions, highlighting that the systemic approach allows for a better understanding of the dynamics of interactions between the subsystems or dimensions of sustainable development. It is concluded that the success of this model depends on the active cooperation of all development actors, in harmony with the principles of sustainability. The study contributes to the construction of a transdisciplinary and holistic vision of economic, social, and environmental systems.
