New agrarian property in Venezuela
A three-dimensional analysis
Keywords:
agrarian property, environmental law, food security, social function, VenezuelaAbstract
This article analyzes the paradigmatic transformation of agrarian property in Venezuela since the 1999 Constitution. The study examines how the classical conception of absolute ownership has given way to a comprehensive vision called "AAA Agrarian Law," which integrates agriculture, the environment, and food security. Using a hermeneutic methodology, the regimes of the 1960 Agrarian Reform Law and the current Law of Lands and Agrarian Development (LTDA) are compared. The results indicate that the new agrarian property is based on social function and agroecological possession, definitively distancing itself from the rigidity of traditional civil law.
