Academic procrastination in the university student: a reality in the classrooms

The main purpose of this essay is to analyze academic procrastination in university students: a reality in the classroom. The methodology is part of a documentary-type study, in which approaches from different authors of the subject under study that are obtained in digital scientific journals are used and reflective positions are used as researchers to the topic addressed. It is said that procrastination is considered as the habit of postponing activities or simply replacing them with others of greater motivation, this has become a natural action of the human being in his daily life, likewise, when talking about procrastination in the classroom, it is considered as academic procrastination, which consists of postponing or delaying academic activities for others considered more attractive or important. In short, students will always look for a way to procrastinate with their academic activities, it is up to the teacher to adopt the best strategies in their exercise, since there is no specific manual to avoid this situation, it is suggested to link motivation, monitoring, Innovation also requires a comprehensive, resilient teaching role, open to communication, an essential element for the teaching-learning process.
