Abstract

The transformation of university academic management in Venezuela through the application of Artificial Intelligence is centered on the idea that AI is not just another technological tool, but a key strategic resource that can fundamentally redesign academic management. In this regard, the study’s general purpose was to interpret how artificial intelligence can transform university academic management in Venezuela. Methodologically, the study adopted an interpretive paradigm and a hermeneutic phenomenological method. It is important to note that the key informants were three (03) individuals, including university professors and academic staff from various Venezuelan universities. To gather their experiences regarding the phenomenon under study, in-depth interviews were used as the primary technique, structured around eight (08) open-ended questions related to the categories of analysis. It was concluded that artificial intelligence in the university is not, in essence, merely a conversation about technology; rather, it is a discussion about the future of education, particularly the type of professionals one wishes to train, as well as the role of knowledge in society and, ultimately, the kind of country one aspires to build.
